New IECAM Project Identifies Providers with Multiple Funding Sources

Published: July 1, 2024

The Illinois Early Childhood Asset Map is excited to launch a tool that allows users to identify early childhood providers that receive public funding from multiple programs and/or child care subsidies.

This new interactive tool, commissioned by the Illinois Department of Health and Services (IDHS), was developed using a dataset created in collaboration with a team from Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago.

This dataset incorporates data from the Illinois State Board of Education Preschool for All (PFA), Preschool for All Expansion (PFAE), and Prevention Initiative (PI) programs; the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP); and Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) programs.

Using the filter tool, users can find providers based on a specific geographic region and/or funding source. For example, you can filter to see which providers in Champaign County receive funding for both Head Start and Preschool for All.
